Honey I’m Home
OK, OK…sorry this post has taken so long to put up, I was giving Nina a few days to let her be the first one to put up all the pics. since I usually hog them all, but I’ve waited and waited, and I just can’t wait anymore, I’m putting the pictures up and telling my version of our time camping.
Well, to start off a couple of months ago we came up with the idea to hold a summer camp from ages 7-11, we thought it would be cute and fun for the kids. I’m not a camper sort of person, I don’t like the idea of being in tents on hard floors with dirt and bugs etc. but seeing as I love my children so much, I couldn’t help but sacrifice a week of discomfort, so they could have fun.
We arrived on the 6th to set up for the 18 children who would attend, and trying to find a spot that wouldn’t annoy the nieghbors was our first endeavor. All I can say is TG that Steve, Mike, and John came to help us set up, as it was looking rather bleak upon arrival, being the naive person I am, I was picturing grassy hills, but no, it was gravel. Fun, fun.
Well after looking for about an hour we found a great spot and I got used to the fact that we would sleep on rocks until Nina told me she brought a blow up mattress. TY!
It took me awhile to get used to sleeping with the night bugs, owls, and coyotes, etc. We had some pretty scary things happen, one being that we thought we were being followed by a stalker, another being the coyotes were coming for us, and of course we happened to arrive at Rattlesnake season, so on those fun nights I really was so very thankful for my husband and my nice wonderful bed and home.
The kids had a blast, from 6 in the morning till 10 at night we kept them busy with inspirations, classes, sports, swimming, hiking, cook outs, marshmellow roasts, arts and crafts, T-shirt painting, Beauty and the Beast theatrical play, glow-in-the-dark night, scary story nights, dance night and much more which made all these other little things insignificant, I am putting the millions of pictures we took as they will explain better about what went on during our first attempt at a summer camp.
I also want to thank Maggie, Joe, Crystal, and Nadia for coming and helping with it, we couldn’t have done it without you guys. And of course not to forget our wonderful husbands who came to visit us, surprising us with drinks and snacks. LY!
And if you ask me if I would do it again, apart from the many things I’ve learned not to do when camping, I would say bring it on!

Wow you sure are a strong, rough, and hardy woman of God.

Why thank you Zero. If chasing off the bugs and roughing it sleeping on the rocks (air matress) qualifies as a “hardy woman of God”, I feel I should do it more often.
