And off we went

John: The plane ride of over the pacific was rather uncomfortable and different for me. I was still getting used to sharing the things that I had been used to having for my own, like my seat, the desert that was served, the chocolate, and the fruit bowl. By the time Abi got comfortable and tucked in for the night on the plane I was utterly miserable. I had one butt cheek on the seat and the other hanging out in the isle and I would just have to suck it up every time that the stewardess wanted to get the drink trolley by. In under five minutes I look over and Abi was in her happy place, content and cozy. And I was glad for her. I remember thinking that she looked like an angel at 27,000 feet. Then she shifted and her head started drooping painfully sideways. Seeing as I was not going to be getting any sleep anyways in the half cocked position I was in, not to mention there was someone in first class franticly pounding on the service button when the martini ran dry, keeping the stewardess pushing the trolley around the clock and me sucking it up. So I reached over and held her head for as long as she was comfortable in that pose. By the time the lights came back on and the coffee and breakfast was being served Abi stirred and with the sweetest face she asked “hi baby how did you sleep”?
I was half dazed and the only thing that was on my mind was pealing my self out the seat doing a #1 and getting some coffee. But still managed to smile and offer her half of my Tutsi roll. God I love her!

Abi: I do have to admit here that I was a little bit of a baby on this trip, I hadn’t flown ever since I was a kid and I guess I needed that extra pampering. But don’t feel too sorry for John. There is the “she said” part of this story and he loved every minute of sucking his butt cheek in, and giving his last scraps of food to me. He felt like the knight of my dreams, and he was!!
