A hit of my Italian birthright came out last Saturday when we got the idea to go to a winery. There are a lot of nice ones here in Temecula. The day started out with perfect weather sun and all. We headed out, did a little shopping for some of the finer things in life,(Italian sausage, various assortments of cheese, strawberries, French bread, crackers, and of course chocolates), tossed it all in a wooden basket and whala we had a nice little picnic in the making. All we were missing was the wine and we had a good idea were that was coming from.
We did a little drive about for the perfect grounds to spread a blanket and begin feasting, but when we didn’t we settled for a picnic table. We got a couple bottles of local wine and by the time we were ready to enjoy, a northern gail had blown in, along with the accompanying cloud cover made for some very cold SoCalers. We somehow still managed to scarf down every thing we brought. I am still not sure if that was because we were trying to keep warm or because it was good. But I am going to go with the latter. Good times!

Ohhhh, I miss that area. Have you gone to the winery that gives free tasting?? IF not, let me know. They also bake bread for you right there with cheese melted in it. We went to the winery with free tasting, with some friends, and got into talking about wines around the world, and the girl behind the counter, kept pouring the wine, she really enjoyed the “around the world” talk. It’s a really nice place to eat with picnic tables etc..
Free tastings! We didn’t come across any of those. Do you remember which one that was?

This is the one. But maybe it’s only on certain days, and it’s not in the “tasting room”, it’s just at the bar, and they use to serve 5 free tastes!
But never buy the wine in the winery, but you can get the same wine at Trader Joes in Tememcula, for a very cheap price,
