Steve and the Roach Part 5

Just kidding….. it’s not really a roach story. Just an update on how things are going in the crutch depart-ment, they have departed my sides now for about 4 hours and I have been limping without them. I am able to make small foray’s to the bathroom and around the house. I will see how it goes sometimes it an on again off again thing with the crutches depending on how the swelling does. Right now it’s an off again situation, PTL!

  1. You’ll be clipping your own toenails before you know it. ;)

    Praying for you John.

  2. Glad to see you finally living up to your poker game namesake. Hope it gets better quickly though. I saw Steve “war-limping” around the house with his wireless today too.

  3. hmmmmm….johnny had the same surgery within days of yours and he only used crutches the first week. He has a leg brace that keeps his leg straight. He’s had 5 weeks of therapy 3 times a week now and he still has a ways to go to get his knee to bend. The doctor told him he has to wear the brace until he can bend his knee like his good knee. It’s a lot of work getting through this and we’re praying for you and Steve!

  4. Interesting…. what surgery did he have done? A week seems fast to be off crutches. Thanks for your prayers!

  5. He had his ICL (I think you call it) reconstructed. He had a torn tendon. He tore it in the air when doing a flip on the trampoline in January. We didn’t realize what had happened, except he couldn’t walk well for awhile and his knee would pop out of place sometimes and then get sore. His surgery took 2 hours. He’s in his 6th week of therapy now and may need more, as he still can’t bend his knee all the way.
