Nine Dayish To Go

Please keep Abi and the bun in your prayers. We are still wrestling over how to spell her name, Janess, Geness, or Jeness. I am sure that it will come to us soon. Thank God that we are having a girl as the room is already well stocked with more pink things then an overstocked pig farm. The only challenge is going to be getting Carina to share some of the pink with the sibling.

Chargers Game

I was totally shocked when yesterday morning someone handed me an envelope with four Chargers tickets and free parking to the Chargers home game that was happening in about two hours. Steve, Mike, Ike, and myself headed out with full confidence in our Chargers winning one of the worst teams in the league the Chefs. Well that was not to be, they got slapped around pretty good and we where there to see it sitting the closest you can get to the carnage. The first half was good as the Chargers where in the lead, but all I can say for the second half is “thank God for the cheer leaders” as without them there was much to be desired of the game. All in all though it was a very fun experience and living by faith has some amazing rewards, in this case $400.00 worth!

Steve and the Roach Part 5

Just kidding….. it’s not really a roach story. Just an update on how things are going in the crutch depart-ment, they have departed my sides now for about 4 hours and I have been limping without them. I am able to make small foray’s to the bathroom and around the house. I will see how it goes sometimes it an on again off again thing with the crutches depending on how the swelling does. Right now it’s an off again situation, PTL!

Adversity

“Adversity is a severe instructor, set over us by one who knows us better than we do ourselves, as He loves us better too. He that wrestles with us strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper. This conflict with difficulty … will not suffer us to be superficial.”—Edmund Burke (1729-1797), British statesman

I like this quote a lot, on the other hand it is one thing to like the quote, it is another thing to like/grow to appreciate the adversity. This is somewhat harder to learn. But most of us have to learn it whether we like to or not……. that was my brain fart for the week.

Still deciding if I want to start blogging again…..I just found out that Ambie is having a boy, Stephanie is having a boy, Maria is having a girl, Claire is having a girl, and I’m having a girl. I guess I didn’t realize how many new babies are going to be born soon. Keep us all in your prayers. I’ve got 4 weeks to go!

Recovery seems to be going well. In a couple days I should be just walking on one crutch and then about two weeks after that I should be off crutches altogether. I can’t wait for that. I have been doing water therapy for the past couple days. Although I sort of feel at times a little like Esther Williams twirling about on one leg, I can really tell a marked difference in my overall motion. Thanks for your prayers for it all.
